Autobiographical Introduction

I am Benjamin Yaw Atsem, a Surveying Engineering Technology Major and currently in my Senior year at NJIT. My friends normally call Benji and I transferred from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology-School of mines with a Degree in Mine Surveying in 2000.

Am a Ghanaian by birth and first came to the United States in 2002 and now a full time student at NJIT and work Part-time with an Engineering and Surveying Firm. My first goal is to graduate next year May from NJIT. The most important thing in my life is to get the much needed advance college education and international experience. I am friendly and fun to talk to once you get to know me. One thing that has shaped me life is the respect for people with other cultures and the elderly and their backgrounds as well as time punctuality and keeping a promise. Some of the favorite places I will like to visit are the museums of arts and culture / discoveries, movie theatre, parks and gardens, beaches and the Great Wall of China.

My future plan after May 2008 is to continue graduate school to pursue a program in Transportation Engineering since I am taking the BSc. /MSc. Accelerated program. I want success academically and the most importantly my plan is to open up a Firm that specializes in Mining/Construction, Boundary and Topographic Surveys and Traffic Studies and Highway Designs in the U.S and in Ghana with some of Ghanaian friends who have got the same education in the United States.

Lastly my hobbies are soccer, playing video and computer games, cooking, reading, basket ball and the track and field events. Currently, I live in Orange a few miles from NJIT in Essex County in the State of New Jersey.
