The Nano Building System toy line was released by toy block maker Mega Bloks on August 25, 2004. All major retailers carried the line as did many online retailers. The toy line lasted for almost two years before is was discontinued, in 2005, due to low sales.

What was so neat about the building block sets was its size. The blocks were nano (miniature) in size, allowing building projects such as vehicles, helicopters, boats or whatever to be built with much better detail then that of the larger building block size. The Nano Building System to date still holds the title "World's Smallest Building Block"
