I don't like the way an advert without a backing page stands out in red. Is there an alternative solution? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.3.32.9 (talkcontribs)

Yes. Create an article with content. As it is, Wiki articles that point to nothing are red. Otherwise, someone might click a link expecting to get an article, and instead they will get a placeholder. Articles with no content are subject to speedy deletion. --malathion talk 10:31, 29 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Of course, you're absolutely right. Please go ahead and delete this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DuncanCragg (talkcontribs)

hinders adoption among users who may be hesitant to install new software on their machines.

Is there a source for this? Frankly I doubt it's true. From browsing the web version I would have no idea there was a client to download. I only found out about it by reading this article :) Mathiastck 08:40, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well no response, so I think I'll remove said claim. Mathiastck 17:37, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think that iMeem have changed their logo(as seen on their official website). Can somebody put the new logo on the page, please? Unregistered 23:, 1 April 2007 (GMT+02:00)

Does anyone have any info about whether they're getting sued or not. a lot of the clips on the site are now 30 second previews 7/7/07

They're getting sued by warner brothers, and they've got a lot of deals in place with indie labels. The way it works I gather is that when something is uploaded it's presumed to be copyrighted until snocap scans it and figures out which label it's on, if it's a label which has a deal with imeem then the track becomes full length. snocap can take a while too by the looks of things 7/8/07

dammn. well thanks for the info. It used to be the best site to get unreleased big name artist tracks, but i guess now its going to be the youtube of music for indie labels. i thought it would stay up for a while cause it was only streaming music, and at high rates too, it was really cool. i wonder if some more ppl were doing what i was doing... you can use a program like url helper do download the streams from imeem's servers at insanely fast rates. it WAS really cool, but oh well. i'll miss imeem.

They're not dead yet, in fact they're traffic is still going up according to alexa. And they have managed to break a number of download tools.

yeah, i was kinda wondering about that. i hope they make a deal w/ whoever's suing them. i can't dl anything from them anymore.

Changes to imeem model

imeem's model has changed a lot since its inception and is now a youtube for music. Does anyone have the time to rewrite this? Almost the entire article looks off. imeem is now the 4th most popular media sharing website in 2007!

Imeem have removed all support for the client, so large parts of the article are now only historical.

Imeem usage

There was an edit which claimed that user rights were being infringed by imeem converting their uploads to 30 seconds - does anyone have any idea whether users can reasonably claim rights infringement since they agreed to the TOS and they uploaded something by an artist who hasn't given imeem permission to use their content. Furthermore the edit claimed that users were leaving the site because of this 30 second policy, and I see no evidence of this, the first reports of 30 second previews appear around may, and looking at (the gloriously innacurate) alexa graph we see a lot of growth right up to the start of August, but for august it's been declining but I think that's more likely to be due to myspace restarting their aggressive censorship of imeem content. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.181.217.156 (talk) 00:49, August 26, 2007 (UTC)
