Imerys is the worldwide leader of industrial minerals and is active in 45 countries through over 250 industrial and commercial sites.. The Group mines and processes minerals from reserves with rare qualities in order to develop solutions that improve its customers’ product performance and manufacturing efficiency. The Group’s products have many applications in everyday life, including construction, personal care, paper, paint, plastic, ceramics, telecommunications and beverage filtration.

Imerys achieved €3.3 billion in sales in 2006.

Sales by products family are as follows:

Performance Minerals & Pigments (35% of Sales 2006) : mainly kaolins and calcium carbonates for paper industry, plastics, paints, rubbers (World No.1 in kaolin for paper, world No.1 in minerals for breathable plastic films)

Materials & Monolithics (28 %) : building materials (tiles, brick and chimney blocks, chimney blocks, slates - French No.1)) monolithic refractories (European No.1);

Ceramics, Refractories, Abrasives & Filtration(37 %) : fine ceramics (European n° 1 européen in ceramic bodies for porcelain), tiles minerals, minerals for abrasives and for filtration (world n° 1), advanced technical solutions (world n° 1 in minerals for high performance graphite powders).

2006 Sales by geographic zone is: France (20 %), rest of Europe (40 %), North America (24 %), Asia-Pacific (10 %) and rest of world(6 %).
