Irmo Middle School

Irmo Middle School is located at 6051 Wescott Road, Irmo, South Carolina. It is part of School District 5 of Lexington and Richland Counties. The school enrolls rising seventh and eighth graders, and after passing the eighth grade, students continue to Irmo High School. The principal is Mrs. Marie Waldrop. Both Irmo High School's and Irmo Middle School's mascot is a yellow jacket. As of the 2006-2007 school year the school had 1143 students enrolled.

Athletics

During the 2006-2007 school year, Irmo's C-Team Basketball and Football Teams won the Palmetto Athletic Conference Championships, with its football team having an undefeated season (7-0), which beat out Irmo's previous school record (4-3); (Although the team's championship game was cancelled, they were still crowned PAC champs.) and their basketball team was also crowned PAC champs, with a 16-1 record.[1]
