Variola Vera, [1]is film made in 1982., by director Goran Markovic.
Film folows describes events in Serbia, ex-Yugoslav republic, during a outbreak of smallpox ([2].
Subject of the film are members of all parts of society (patients in the hospital, medical personal, common people, army and police members, politicians of Serbian government from that period) and their transformation during a deadly outbreak.
Most of the film is taking place at General Hospital at Belgrade, which was a one of the quarantines established during outbreak. Conditions in hospital, interaction and characters of people in film are very realistic.
