Grand Master of the Sacred Apostolic Hospice
The Grand Master of the Sacred Apostolic Hospice, (Gran Maestro del Sacro Ospizio) or Quartermaster-General of the Sacred Palaces, was an hereditary official of the Pontifical Household. On June 28, 1808 Pope Pius VII appointed Price Francesco Ruspoli on a hereditary basis.[1] He was a Participating Privy Chamberlains and the sole lay member of the Noble Privy Antechamber, as well as a Participating Privy Chamberlains of the Sword and Cape (who were all laymen, traditionally holding hereditary posts).
