Jill Morgenthaler (born 1954) is a a retired U.S. Army Reserve colonel and the deputy chief of staff for public safety in Illinois.[1] She is a candidate to run against Peter Roskam in Illinois' 6th congressional district in 2008.

Abu Graib scandal

Morgenthaler handled press duties for the Army during the Abu Ghraib scandal in 2004 and downplayed the incident in an online journal that she wrote at the time.

She has been serving as a homeland security adviser to the unpopular Blagojevich, who has faced a wave of controversy in part from his awarding of state contracts.[1]
