Genetic Memory also known as Ancestral Memory, is the theory that withen our genes is past knowledge from our ancestors. Though we can not prove that this with our technology today there are lots of hints towards it.

When a shark is born, it is not rased by any one or any thing. It instinctually knows how to survive and even knows what fish are poisones. This is one theory that can be found in every day life that points to Genetic Memory being possible.

Another good point that helps point out that memorys and knowledge from past generations is possible is skills. It is always strange when you learn about something for the first time and have no prior knowledge it. But even stranger when you are very good at it and have previose knowing of it.

Languages could also be put through this debate. Many people are very good at learning a new language, Others arn't. Perhaps people who have "previose" instinctual knowledge are better at learning langauges and others who have only spoken one langauge for generations have a harder time learning a new one.
