Antiprotonic helium atom is a three-body object composed of a helium nucleus with an electron and antiproton orbiting around it. The atom can be produced by simply mixing antiprotons with ordinary helium gas. The antiproton is captured into a stable quantum orbital state that lies very far from the helium nucleus, and so the atom can survive for many microseconds before annihilating.

Antiprotonic helium ion is a two-body object composed of a helium nucleus and orbiting antiproton. It has an electric charge of +1.
