The Second Open type of railway coach was one of the standard British Railways Mark One designs; coded 'SO' and built in the 1950's.

The layout of the coach was an open saloon divided by a central cross corridor giving access to central exterior doors. Seating 48 people in 2 x 2 seating with tables between there were two toilets provided at one end.

Originally second class they were designated standard class before withdrawal
