Nevi'im
Appearance
Nevi'im, Hebrew: נביאים (=Prophets) is the second of three sections of the Tanakh (or: Hebrew Bible).
This section is traditionally divided into two parts:
1. Nevi'im Rishonim (First Prophets), which contains the narrative books of Joshua through Kings.
2. Nevi'im Aharonim (Latter Prophets) containing prophecies mostly in the form of biblical poetry.
In the Jewish tradition, Samuel and Kings are counted as one book each. In addition, twelve relatively short prophetic books are counted as one (Trei Asar, The Twelve).
