The most prominent Tehsil of Distt. Rahim Yar Khan is name after Nawab Muhammad Sadiq Abbasi of Bahawalpur State. Sadiq Abad city is the Tehsil Headquarter located main railway road & KLP road. It is the last city of Punjab Province while traveling from Lahore & Karachi by rail or road. This Tehsil stands as transitional area between the two providences where we can observed Sindi & Punjabi culture surviving together along with the tamest of Sindhi culture on its western boundary Ghothki District of Sindh & own its northern side Rajan Pur Distt of Punjab. The Indian border is about 25Km own southern side of Sadiq Abad city. In the east of Sadiq Abad is situated of Tehsil Rahim Yar Khan. Sadiq Abad is the largest Tehsil of the Distt. Measuring 555680 acres . Its boundary start from the middle of Dandy & Reti railway stations. Extending beyond Adam Sahaba. In length & breadth the Tehsil is about 50 x 50 Km.
Population:
The Tehsil population being 760769. This is the Tehsil of most influent politician Makhdoom, Miran Muhammad Shah family. Makhdoom Hassan Mahmood S/O Mian Muhammad Shah ruled the politics of Sadiq Abad for the past many decades. At present, Makhmdoom Ahmad Mahmood is the Distt. Nazim of Distt. Rahim Yar Kahn. And (EX-Excise&Texation). Sardar Rafique Hider Leghari, Mr. Shoukat Dawood (EX-Revenue Minister) of Punjab, Mr. Rais Shabbir any many other popular politicos belongs to this Tehsil.
Agriculture:
Sadiq Abad is very rich in agriculture fertile area, which produces large quantity of best cotton, wheat and sugar cane besides many other less significant crops. There are about 56 cotton ginning factories and many oil mills in Sadiq Abad. The extend of sugar can product can be guess from the fact that there are tow sugar mills in this Tehsil i.e. Jamal Din Wali sugar mills & United Sugar Mills in Walhar. Fuji Fertilizer Factory of Machhi Goth is also a great source of prosperity for this Tehsil & also a major fertilizer plant of Pakistan.
This tehsil has got various altercating features for tourist also in Bhoong, a town of this Tehsil, a beautiful mosque built by Raise Ghazi stands more attractive place for tourist from all over the world
