Plymouth United Football Club was a football club from Plymouth.

As it was formed prior to 1886 it is possibly the first football club to use the term United. It was certainly older than the widely considered oldest Sheffield United F.C.

As a pioneering club in Devon it played against Argyle Football Club in it's first season and was a founding member of the Devon County Football Association[1].
