Grey Court School
Grey Court School is a mixed comprehensive in Richmond, Greater London, England. It was built in the 1950s. Its head teacher is Maggie Bailey and it is twinned with Alexander-von-Humboldt-Gymnasium in Konstanz, Southern Germany.
History
During the late 1960s the school art annex was badly damaged by fire. Again in1970s a large part of the main school burned down as a result of arson by disgruntled pupils. In 1978 the school was extensively rebuilt. Thanks to its much improved facilities and a change of head teacher it gained a reputation as one of the better schools in the area.
The school's pupils again rebelled in the mid 1980s by staging a mass walk out. This type of behaviour very much cut against the political times, the school being quite progressive and liberal during the Thatcher years. This liberalism, along with aggressive teacher strike action during the same period, brought about a decline in the school's reputation.
The school became a Beacon School, and retains that status despite a poor OFSTED report and being placed in Special Measures in 2004.
The school came out of Special Measures very swiftly in 2004.

The school has specialist status in science, computing and mathematics.
