I have reverted your edits to landed gentry, which were anachronistic and incorrect. The landed gentry in Europe were all upper class; land ownership was the thing that defined the upper class in traditional European societies, not wealth. You seem to have been applying modern American perceptions to the subject, with their direct correlation between income and class, but they are not relevant. CalJW 11:34, 26 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
