Life As We Knew It, by Susan Beth Pfeffer, takes place in Pennsylvania and tells the story of a 16 year old girl who's life gets inturrupted when a meteor hits the moon. As a result, worldwide disasters such as tsunamis, earthquakes, and volcanoes occur. Her family must get by as a seemingly apocalyptic winter comes about.
