Johnny Sasaki is a joke character in the Metal Gear Solid series. He is originally a Genome Soldier in MGS1, a Gurlukovich Army mercenary in the second, and we get to meet his father in MGS3.

He is in the series, apparently, for comic relief. He's a bit of a coward, has a shyness/insecurity around women, and is a (disgustingly enough) chronic diarretic. Not to mention, he always seems to be cursed to be beaten up and\or embarassed.

Examples:

Metal Gear Solid 1- Get's all of his clothes (including his underwear) stolen by Meryl, catches a cold shortly before this and complains about Alaska and mentions how "built" Meryl is shortly before this.

Metal Gear Solid 2- Winds up on a commode in the Big Shell's Shell One Core, B1, griping about the President's escort guards, saying how the Gurlukovich Army is a "pretty decent bunch", and how Olga Gurlukovich (whom he calls "the commander chick") resembles Meryl. By the end of his musings, he's stuck on the commode with no toilet paper.

Later, as Raiden and Snake sniper enemies as Emma Emmerich makes her way across the oil fence, he accosts her behind a column, warns her to "run like hell", and then frantically tries to find a bathroom because his stomach acts up again.

Metal Gear Solid 3- Naked Snake meets him while he is trapped in a jail cell. Johnny and Snake have a brief talk about how they are both Americans, and Johnny reveals he has a son named Johnny in America, and he gives Snake his cigars back. Snake appeals to him to let him out, and Johnny refuses, feeling more than a little traitorous.

Later, soon after Snake manages to escape the cell, it is possible to knock out and\or kill Johnny, and neither has an effect on the storyline.

As well, while Snake is in the cell, he can hear some funny dialouge from Johnny about his resurgent diarrhea problems.

Currently, it is unknown as to how he escaped Shadow Moses Island after the first game, and at present it is unknown if he will show up in Metal Gear Solid 4 or any other Metal Gear titles.
