I haven't been an editor for very long, and I really had high hopes for the project. However, after a few short weeks of active participation I realise that Wikipedia will never be more than it already is: sub-standard dross and fan pages mixed in with some excellent and informative articles. Unfortunately there's no way to sort the wheat from the chaff, and the average standard is doomed to never pass beyond mediocrity.

Let's see how Citizendium turns out. At least they're trying to iron out the faults. Here they're actively encouraged.
