Wellwater Conspiracy

Wellwater Conspiracy is a band featuring Matt Cameron and John McBain. The band originally featured ex-Soundgarden bassist Ben Shepherd, however he left the band in 1998.

History

The group released their debut, Declaration of Conformity (1997) to general critical acclaim. Shortly after the release of their debut album, Cameron was chosen to replace Jack Irons as drummer for grunge group Pearl Jam. However, Cameron and McBain intend to keep the band going as a permanent side project, and a further three Wellwater Conspiracy albums have been produced since Matt joined Pearl Jam in 1998. These include Brotherhood of Electric: Operational Directives (1999), The Scroll and Its Combinations (2001), and the self-titled Wellwater Conspiracy (2003).

The band often performs with other musicians, many of whom are friends of theirs. Notable appearances include keyboardist Glenn Slater of folk rock group The Walkabouts and Kim Thayil of Soundgarden, Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam and Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age and Kyuss.
