Macodes is one of a few genus of the orchid family that is commonly known as Jewel Orchid. This terrestrial orchid grows in the rainforest floor of South-East Asia with high humidity and low light. The plant is cultured for the beautifully marked leaves, unlike other orchid plants that are valued for the flower.
