Assess

Obviously a lot more is required on this article to avoid deletion. Add an infobox first, more text and photos and try not to forget references. Welcome Victuallers 17:56, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Working on it

I've been working on this article, as it's my Alma Mater. I'm going to start writing more detailed sections (athletics, academics, etc). However, it is rather difficult, as the school is only a few years old. --CanesOL79 02:00, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm working on it too, as I am currently attending it. We need some more sections, on drama (I can work those pretty well) and on school activities. I agree- as it is only 5 years old, it is rather difficult. --Wiltingflower (talk) 17:02, 3 March 2008 (UTC)WiltingFlower[reply]

Please STOP vandailizing

Ok, people? The vanalaztion is getting really old. So stop it on my page, and others who edit this page's pages and on this page especially. Because some of us acutally take pride in our school. --Always remember you're unique- just like everyone else (talk) 23:21, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do not change the picture

The picture in use is the official school crest of Bishop McLaughlin. Therefore, it is illogical to use any other image. Leave the logo alone and do not use any other picture prior to consulting the other editors. Thank you. --CanesOL79 (talk) 21:51, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What needs to be done

This article is getting better. However, let me touch on a few points:

  • Using bullets is inappropriate, given that the article is in encyclopedic form, and not a list. In other words, don't use them. (Take note that this is a bulleted list)
  • If we're going to include a sports history section, I suggest actually working on a history of every team possible. For instance, the first teams, the accomplishments, etc.
  • Keep the article sounding professional. I deleted a few things that sounded too personal or casual; additionally, I reworded some sentences for the same reason.
  • I would highly suggest coming to me for advice before you make drastic, semi-drastic, or any changes to the article. I don't quite want to have to lock it if dingbats keep messing it up.

--CanesOL79 (talk) 22:28, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok-
In responce to what you said:

  • Sorry about the bullets- I didn't think
  • I'll talk to the guys about the sports history- they are on the teams so it will be easier for them to do than me, however, I will fill in what I can get off the page, because I'm clueless
  • I'll be on the lookout for more
  • Ok, I will if I am making any major changes- I'm hoping I'm not one of the dingbats to whom you reffered

Now, some notes of my own

  • STOP VANDALIZING, Codeak!!!! (Had to say that- you're really getting on my nerves, and if you don't want me yelling at you tomorrow, I would stop it NOW)
  • We need to get the school crest actually kept up on the page- that means it needs to appear in more articles than just this
  • Citing is a good thing- put it into action

I'm about ready to request a special lock put on this page. Stop editing it. Stop showing biased material. Like I said, if you want to make any edits, run them by me. I will be more than happy to supply you with more expedient wants with which to contact me. --CanesOL79 (talk) 03:42, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I'm running them by you right now- what do you want me to do. Give the word, and it's done- I have too much spare time. --Always remember you're unique- just like everyone else (talk) 03:44, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Do nothing. I don't want this article touched if it can't be edited properly and thusly improved upon. I'm deleting the sports section, as I do not want anything there until sufficient sub-subsections can be written up. One sentence per sport does not constitute a valid "history" of said sport. Also, the history is factually inaccurate and biased, two things I aim to correct. --CanesOL79 (talk) 03:46, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I disagree entirly- I got all that off of the actual site, and cited every one of those. I would like to kindly remnd you that this is not only your artical- there are others who wish to work on it too, others who have been getting rid of vandalisum for months now, and are currently attending said school, and so are more aware of changes and events currently relating to this article. Just a friendly reminder. --Always remember you're unique- just like everyone else (talk) 03:57, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • No, I understand where you are coming from. However, the 2007-2008 football team did not finish with a 7-4 record, and the bias that was present is unacceptable and unprofessional. Additionally, while I see the benefits of starting small and then progressing from those premature stages, I would rather start out properly (factually, historically, grammatically, etc) than start out at all. And yes, I understand that this is not just my article; however, as an alumnus of this school, I refuse to let this article reflect poorly on it. Same thing goes with the Borromeo article. Hint: learn to spell "diocese." --CanesOL79 (talk) 04:03, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • Understood, learnt to spell it (both my parents teach English, and yet I can barely spell my own name) I got that off the webpage- I know nothing about the school sports, so I will get some other current students to help out as well, students who actually keep record of that sort of thing.--Always remember you're unique- just like everyone else (talk) 04:09, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thank you for understand the situation I'm in regarding this article. Don't worry about it, we'll get this done. Do me, your mind and body, and this article a favor though and get some rest. I don't know if this is as a result of caffeine highs and tiredness, or if this is generally how you are, but your edits, though intended to be whole-hearted and well-meant, are only hurting the article(s). --CanesOL79 (talk) 04:17, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hi. I am one of the regular editors of the BMCHS page. I understand what you want us to do and I completely agree. Anything I want to add, I will write on my computer, and when I am finished, I will post it here for you to read it over. Then, with your permission, I will post it. The previous problem was that I started expanding the page, and then I had so much work to do for school that I had to stop editing. So now that we all know the plan, hopefully this page will expand properly and professionally. If there is anything else I need to know, you can post on my page here: User talk:Irishfan3124 or on this page; whatever is best for you. Thanks! Irishfan3124 (talk) 13:30, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • Thank you both. It appears our work has saved the images and articles from deletion. However, Wiltingflower, make sure you don't go crazy with picture uploads, as numerous unused pictures reflects poorly on the intended articles as well as yourself and anything else associated with the aforementioned. I have a somewhat busy day ahead of me, so if you guys post anything to the talk page here, don't worry, I'll be able to get to it by tonight. Remember, patience is a virtue. Good things come to those that wait. --CanesOL79 (talk) 16:03, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have a proposal

I was just thinking. What if we included "athletics" (which has yet to be written) and "dramatics" in an overarching "Extra-Curricular Activities" section? I mean, that's what they are. However, I don't know if this will make the article look clustered or unnecessarily complex. Before we make any changes, though, I want the athletics section to get written up. I can work on the football section specifically, as well as contribute sufficient information towards other sports. Please contribute as per necessary. Thank you. --CanesOL79 (talk) 16:10, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That sounds like it could work- and we could also include things on clubs such as Key Club. I'll talk to IrishFan to see if he can write baseball. I'm useless as far as athletics go. I do agree that we have to be careful, and not overreach- the section needs to be not cluttered. However, if we work on the organaztion and content here, I think it could work. --Always remember you're unique- just like everyone else (talk) 16:17, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
