Lamoureux means the best love and is an amalgamation of the words l'amour le mieux which becomes lamoureux. Those with sirnames Lamoureux include Lucien Lamoureux and Yves Lamoureux among others. The Lamoureux family migrated to Nova Francia which of the Sant-Laurents of Quebec Canada in the 17th century from Normandie and France.
