[edit] Politics Inflamed Politics Inflamed: GSE and the campaign against incineration in Ireland (2005) Galway: Irish Greenhouse Press Ecopolitics Series Volume 1 and Drogheda: Choice. Politics Inflamed was Leonard's first book, examining campaigns against incineration in Ireland.

[edit] Green Nation Green Nation: the environmental movement in Ireland from Carnsore Point to the Rossport 5 (2006) Galway: Irish Greenhouse Press Ecopolitics Series Volume 2 and Drogheda: Choice. Green Nation, Leonard's second book, has been critically acclaimed for its development of an understanding of the rural based nature of the Irish environmental movement. The book introduces the author's concept of 'rural sentiment' or the visceral connections which links communities to their hinterlands, leading to episodes of collective action against infrastructural developments.

[edit] The Environmental Movement in Ireland The Environmental Movement in Ireland (2008) Dordrecht: Springer. This study develops the themes introduced by Leonard in his first two books. The concept of 'rural sentiment' is extended into a discussion of ecological capital, while existing case studies are revised and updated.
