A theatre camp is a type of performing arts Summer camp for children. Theatre camp can be a fun way for children to learn to have fun and express themselves through acting. There are two different types: residential camps (sleep away camps) and day camps. Both are popular. Some camps offer different types of performing arts such as the Long Lake Camp for the Arts. [1] Some camps take camp a little more seriously, adertising themselves as a theatre training intensive such as the Young Actors' Theatre Camp.[1] Children often have to audition for camps like this, and they are generally extremely expensive.[2] They are mostly for children who want to become a professional actor, or children of stage moms who want their children to become professional actors. There are also camps that focus more on having fun at camp rather than being a vigorous trainging program. Camps like this are often day camps. Some camps like this are the All Children's Theatre in New Jersey, [2], the Troubadour Theatre in Tucson, AZ which offers theatrical design camp camps as well as acting [3][3], and the Improv Playhouse [4].

Camps are easy to find thanks to summer camp search sites such as Summercamps.com [5][4] KidsCamps.com [6][5], and Camps A to Z [7] [6].
