Usage

Except name, all fields are optional. URL should be entered as is, without wiki markups except for the "otherstd" field. If the "notrecognized" or "extinct" field is entered, all URL fields should be left blank.

  • name: Breed name.
  • image: Image file of the breed. Enter as Example.jpg instead of Image:Example.jpg
  • imagecaption: Caption that describes the image
  • altname: Other names by which the breed is known by English speakers. If more than one name, separate by <br>
  • nickname: Common nicknames. If more than one name, separate by <br>
  • country: Country of origin
  • notrecognized: Enter any text here to return a "Not recognized by any major breed registry" message.
  • extinct: Enter any text here to return a "This breed of cat is extinct" message.
  • cfastd: URL to the Cat Fanciers' Association breed standard. Find it here
  • fifestd: URL to the Fédération Internationale Féline breed standard. Find it here
  • ticastd: URL to the The International Cat Association breed standard. Find it here or here
  • gccfstd: URL to the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy breed standard. GCCF doesn't have its standards on their home pages. GCCF standards may be found on individual breed club pages; see GCCF affiliated clubs.
  • aacestd: URL to the American Association of Cat Enthusiasts breed standard.
  • acfastd: URL to the American Cat Fanciers association breed standard.Find it here
  • acfstd: URL to the Australia Cat Federation breed standard. Find it here
  • ccastd: URL to the Canadian Cat Association breed standard. Find it here
  • otherstd: URL to standards of other registries can be added here. It should be added as a typical external link with the registry acronym as link title. If more than one entry, separate with <br>&nbsp;&nbsp;
  • note: Major registries that do not recognize the breed can be mentioned here. E.g. statement: "Not recognized by FIFe and GCCF."
