Free Radio is a VH1 television show starring Lance Krall, prominent for his role on The Joe Schmo Show, and Anna Vocino, who also starred with Krall on The Lance Krall Show. The show focuses on a dysfunctional radio station, KBOM (K being the letter placeholder for many western states). Krall plays a moronic intern turned moronic DJ when KBOM's regular shock jock, Rip Rebel, defects to satellite radio. Lance eventually gets his own show entitled Moron in the Morning, which he misreads as Mormon in the Morning. Real celebrities guest star as themselves with Lance, who often either does not realize who they are or mixes them up with other celebrities on the air.
Characters
Lance Krall as Lance, a former intern at KBOM who gets a job as a radio host, after the former host, Rip Rebel, leaves. He becomes inexplicably popular due to his ignorance and bold stupidity while interviewing celebrities. The stations dubs Lance's show "Moron in the Morning."
Anna Vocino as Anna, is Lance's co-host on "Moron in the Morning." She is often annoyed by Lance's uniformed questions to their guests and his on-air antics but enjoys the success the show has acquired.
Brian Huskey as James Reed, the manager of KBOM and boss of both Lance and Anna. James has been against "Moron in the Morning" from the start but due to it's success and pressure from listeners and the owner's of KBOM, he has been forced to keep the show on the air.
Sarah Baker as Sarah a.k.a Emo Sarah, is an emo/goth receptionist at KBOM.
Cast
Lance Krall graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in film and theater. Shortly after graduating he co-founded The Whole World Theater in Atlanta, Georgia. There he continued his acting and directing in comedy from 1993-2000 preforming in hundreds of shows. In 1999, International Creative Management talent agent saw Lance preform and shortly after signed Krall.
In 2000 he was cast as a regular on Steve Martin's variety show, "The Downer Channel," but after only four episodes the show was canceled due to poor ratings. He soon decided to try to make his own sketch comedy show. He made a thirty minute pilot with the help of his friends at The Whole World Theater. He held on to the tape until the right time.
His next big role was in 2003 on "The Joe Schmo Show," a reality show parody. His character Kip soon became very popular and gave him the opportunity to show executives at Spike TV the pilot he had made. The pilot was given the go-ahead and soon Lance had his own show, appropriately named "The Lance Krall Show." Lance Krall is now the star, writer and director of "Free Radio."
Anna Vocino and Lance Krall have a long history of working together. Anna was also a co-founder of The Whole World Theater in Atlanta. As well as working with Lance on "Free Radio," she previously worked with Lance on television in "The Lance Krall Show." She has also had guest appearances on shows such as "The Young and The Restless" and "Celebrity Death Match."
Brian Huskey is originally from North Carolina where he attended UNC Greensboro. There he earned a degree in English and minored in photography. Brian became a member of Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, where he tested and improved his improv skills. He soon formed a sketch and improv group, the Naked Babies, who he still preforms with to this day. He has also appeared in shows and movies such as "Best Week Ever," "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," "Crossballs," "Superbad" and two soon to be released movies "Semi Pro" and "Starship Dave."
