Yep- this is indeed, Nina's one and only sockpuppet voice, on Wikipedia. Delbert is an ole family name, and as both a male and a rather obscure name not rooted in sci-fi or classic literature, it fit the bill perfectly for near-guaranteed anonymity. As I also assigned this secondary identity a rather obscure password (and no email) I've also been unable to log-in as Delbertpk, and so I now write this entry about my own sockpuppet voice, from my "real" Wikipedia ID.
The words and encouragements I posted here, back in August, were all ernest and true- despite being deliberately disguised so that the person behind them (me) would not be cited as reason to ignore them.
My motivation was to silence the editorial backs and forths that on one hand may have been cute & funny & pranky for a moment, but quelled more rage, hurt and anger than anybody's laugh could have ever been worth. Most of that anger Violet has since targeted at me- and, well- it's gotten to a defamatory level where it just absolutely, positively, has to stop.
Violet is an accomplished author, activist, and admired figure in the sex-positive community- and the SRL stuff is incredibly fringe if not outright irrelevant, to her public noteworthiness which makes an entry about her on Wikipedia, valid. SRL is a large chunk of her heart and personal history, and yes- it is and always will be overwhelmingly noteworthy, there. The political stuff that has been going on since May of 2007 has been and continues to be very, very difficult on all of us- and seeing it continue in a forum like this, and likely by folks completely un-involved, prompted me to pipe-up and interject something that I did sincerely believe- with the hope that it might silence some of the noise that the rest of us just didn't want to hear about, or later take the misdirected heat for.
Wikipedia is not a soapbox, and so I'll end my blurb on their server, here- and continue it, here.
This was my one and only sockpuppet, and was created for the above reasons stated. Because of ongoing slander and defamatory accusations against me, by Violet, over the last 10 months, I've chosen to "out" myself correctly (versus the incorrect and defamatory "outing" that was presented at SXSW*), here- and to tell the rest of my side, on my own server, linkable-to from the text above.
