Template:Infobox musical artist 2 Pedro Zayas (born September 25, 1978), formerly known as Peedi Crakk and later Peedi Peedi, is an American rapper from Pennsylvania's North Philadelphia neighborhood later nicknamed "Ice City". He was once a member of State Property alongside Beanie Sigel, longtime friend Freeway, Young Gunz, Oschino Vasquez and Omillio Sparks, however now only Peedi, Beanie Sigel, Freeway and the Young Gunz remain signed to Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam Records.

Peedi is of Puerto Rican and African-American descent. He has two sons. His voice is noticeably enthusiastic, he uses onomatopoeia and non sequitur ad-libs, and a common catchphrase of his is " "Peedi Crakk make da mack go bdddinnggggg!"

Career

During the rise of State Property and the release of their first movie, Peedi was incarcerated, and forced to look on from behind bars while his rhyming partner Freeway became one of the hottest new talents in hip hop in the late 2000 and throughout 2001. It was not until 2002 when Peedi began to gain attention outside of the Philadelphia area for his debut single "One for Peedi", which featured his crewmates Beanie Sigel, Freeway, and Young Chris of Young Gunz, and was included in the soundtrack for 2002's Paid In Full, released by the film subsidiary of Roc-A-Fella Records. Further legal troubles inhibited his solo debut's release as well as his work with State Property as around this time he was arrested on weapons charges in Philadelphia. Upon his release Peedi continued to work on solo and group projects, recording a number of appearances on 2003's State Property Presents the Chain Gang Vol. 2. Peedie would also begin working with his new collective, Men of Respect, although he made two appearances on Beanie Sigel's well-received 2005 album, The B. Coming - on the track "Gotta Have It", alongside Twista, and "Flatline". However State Property's breakup was announced in 2005, after Beanie Sigel emerged from federal prison stating the only person from the group to visit him while incarcerated was Oschino Vasquez.

In 2006, Peedi was featured on Game Theory, the first Def Jam release by fellow Philly rap group The Roots, on its single "Long Time". Shortly afterwards, . Roots drummer and leader ?uestlove offered Peedi a provisional spot with the group.[1] Peedi stated he would welcome the chance to join The Roots,[1] however when lead MC Black Thought was asked about the possible addition, he said "Nah, he ain't joining, he's just family".

Peedi has recently announced that his debut album (tentatively titled Prince of the Roc: Roc Star) is finished and will be released under Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam, presumably in 2008, and "Take Me Home" will be its first single.

Peedi has recently confirmed that neither he, Beanie Sigel, or Freeway are signed to Roc-A-Fella / Def Jam records.

Peedi, Beanie Sigel and Freeway have been dropped from Roc-A-Fella says Peedi during an SOHH interview in January 2008.

Rumors say that Peedi Peedi has signed to G-Unit Philly along side rapper Ransom due to his friendship with Philly rapper Mike Knox.
