A cunning and experienced back-rower who has been with the Brumbies since day one. Constantly causes trouble for the opposition by forcing crucial turnovers, hitting hard in defense and using his size and power to break through the defense. One of the game’s great characters who constantly niggles teammates at training and opposition players on the field.

Finegan has played in 90 Super 12 matches for the Brumbies and is one of three remaining foundation players in the 2005 squad. Made a huge contribution to making the Brumbies Australia’s most successful Super 12 team.

The giant flanker is the Super 12’s most prolific try-scoring forward, crossing for his 29th try’s. He has also been an integral part of the Wallabies’ success over the past decade, playing 55 tests since making his debut against Wales in 1996. Owen was named in the Wallaby team of the decade.

Finegan said that his time at the Brumbies will hold a special place for him as he moves on to the next stage of his career after signing with UK Club Newcastle Falcons for the next two seasons (2005-2007)
