Brother-in-law

A person's brother-in-law is his or her sister's husband, or spouse's brother. A spouse's sister's husband is also (commonly) considered your "brother-in-law,"[1] but the correct term for this type of brother-in-law is "brother-in-law by marriage."[citation needed] The plural of this term is "brothers-in-law."
