Hello, Jamrifis. I disagree with your assessment of Julian Jaynes' theory regarding the hearing of voices "from God". You stated that people hear them all the time, and that Jaynes' theory was unnecessary. ... Really? How many people do you know who have heard such voices? You must know, or know of, a lot of people who are seriously mentally disturbed. Jaynes' theory explains why such auditory hallucinations were quite common at one stage of our history, yet unheard of among sane people today. I think the theory is quite interesting, and this is just one small part of his over-all theory of consciousness, which has very profound implications. --Rcw2007 04:21, 24 August 2007 (UTC) rcw2007[reply]
