Bruce Margolin is a criminal defense attorney who specializes in marijuana laws. He is the director of the Los Angeles chapter of NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws). He is the writer of the Margolin Guide to Marijuana Law.

Biography

Margolin was born on September 11, 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio. He began his practice when he was 25 years old. He retired for a year when he was 29, but since then, he has remained a lawyer. In 1999, he was awarded the Criminal Defense Attorney of the Year by the Century City Bar Association. Margolin ran for governor in the California recall election, 2003 winning in 11th place with 9,188 votes. Margolin planned to legalize marijuana in the state of California if he were to win the election. He is the father of attorney Allison Margolin whom the Los Angeles Daily Journal gave the title 'LA's Dopest Attorney'.
