A 1925 Leeds tram at the National Tramway Museum in Crich, Derbyshire

The Leeds tramway was the original tram system in Leeds, withdrawn in 1959. Its proposed replacement the Leeds Supertram was axed as well, after a funding shortfall from central government. There were several lines running from the city centre out towards Cross Gates, Chapel Allerton, Moortown, Roundhay, Middleton, Beeston, Armley, Hunslet and Kirkstall. The network was far more extensive then that of the Leeds Supertram.
