The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus was founded in 1994 by Keith Nelson and Stephanie Monseau.

In the fall of 2003, they opened the Palace of Variety on 42nd Street, New York City, just off Times Square. The Palace of Variety served as a venue for scores of performing artists.
