Avram Davidson (1923-1993) was a science fiction writer and editor.

Davidson wrote many stories for pulp magazines in the 1950s. Along with many works of science fiction, he also dabbled in mystery and fantasy. Davidson edited the Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction in the early 1960s.

Much of Davidson's work was characterised by a great deal of erudite embellishment and asides. Very little may actually happen in a Davidson story, but Davidson enjoys describing it in enormous detail.
