I noticed you removed a lot of Hungarian names for places in present Slovakia. There is a discussion going on at User talk:Elonka/Hungarian-Slovakian experiment, in which we have reached a consensus that relevant alternative names can be used, provided the current (Slovak) name is also mentioned. Especially in pre-1918 context, Hungarian names are quite widely used, also in English. You may want to contribute to this discussion. To be more precise, those names are not recognized in English texts and among English users, not were they recognized names in the past. Unless someone provides sources otherwise, insertions of such names is a serious breach of Wikipedia's guidelines.--194.160.75.10 (talk) 13:30, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Don't you think it's a bit arrogant and incivil to dismiss a relevant discussion? If you think it's too one-sided, bring in your point of view! The Wikipedia guidelines do not tell you to remove relevant alternative names, see Wikipedia:NCGN, general guideline no. 2. A quote: Relevant foreign language names (one used by at least 10% of sources in the English language or is used by a group of people which used to inhabit this geographical place) are permitted and should be listed in alphabetic order of their respective languages. IMO "group of people which used to inhabit this geographical place" applies to Hungarians in most of these cases. Markussep Talk 13:35, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
