Walt Ribeiro is a 24 year old music composer and teacher from Philadelphia.
Inspired by the sounds of Frank Zappa and Pearl Jam he started playing guitar at age 16. He continued to pursue music throughout college attending The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. In 2006 he graduated from The University of the Arts with an Associate’s Degree in Jazz Performance (Guitar) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition.
Post Graduation
After graduation Walt produced and published a album titled ‘I.I’, which contained tracks written for a full orchestra. Around this time Walt also began to teach student music theory using the internet. He utilized such services as YouTube.com and UStream.tv to reach students located around the world [1]
The Show
His daily class 'Your Daily Music Lesson with Walt' features music lessons on piano and guitar, live question and answer segments, news, and interviews. It has achieved over 90,000 viewers/students since its start.[2]
