Automatic Baby is the band that R.E.M. and U2 call themselves when they perform together at live events. The name comes from two of their albums. "[[[Automatic For The People]]" by R.E.M. and "Achtung '''Baby''' by U2.

Although, there have been no official album releases of any of their performances, a lot of them can be found on Peer 2 Peer networks.

It's not known how many songs Automatic Baby have performed, but two common performances are a version of U2's "One", with Michael Stipe doing vocals, and a cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Who'll Stop The Rain". There are also a lot of other releases, that are a lot rarer to find, such as a version of R.E.M.s "Losing My Religion", with Bono preforming vocals.
