IBPI is an acronym for International Blinking Pattern Interpretation which describes how SGPIO signals (defined by the SFF-8485 specification) is interpreted into blinking LEDs on disk arrays and storage backplanes.

The SGPIO signal consists of 4 electrical signals. It typically originates from a Host Bus Adapter (HBA) or SAS Expander.
