Woodbridge High School is a co-educational secondary school located in Woodford Green in the London Borough of Redbridge. It is designated as a Specialist Language College, Woodbridge High School is heavily over-subscribed, according to its 2005 Ofsted report, and is improving rapidly. The school appointed Andrew Beaumont as headmaster in 2004 after the former headmistress Barbara Haigh retired after 16 years at the school, Andrew Beaumont previoulsy held the headmaster post at Watford Grammar School for Boys.

It has approximately just over 1,400 pupils and over one hundred members of staff. The taught curriculum consists of Key Stages 3 and 4, and offers AS and A2 Level education in Years 12 and 13. The school's emphasis on a good all-round education is emphasised from its school motto, "Pride in Achievement". The school is set on a course of sustained academic high achievement. The examination results at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 were the highest in the school’s history in the last academic year. The school is held in high esteem within the local area, with many parents opting to move into areas within the catchment area of the school, to be offered a place at the school for their children. The curriculum is diverse and differentiated, as befits a modern, large, school and the school is recognised as a leading school in the locality.

The school has excellent facilities. The ratio of computers to students is approximately 3:1. There is a modern sports hall, a new and well equipped library, excellent music and drama accommodation and well appointed practical laboratories and general classrooms. All subject departments are ‘suited’ and have offices. The two main buildings, Mallards (Upper School), and Wynndale (Lower School), are situated either side of attractive, landscaped grounds. All departments have their own ICT facilities and it is planned that Interactive White Boards will be installed in all classrooms by the end of this academic year.

The school has received many accolades in recent years. In addition to its Specialist College status, it is an Investor in People and an International School. It has received School Achievement awards further to the ‘value-added’ to students.

The Site

There are three main buildings in Woodbridge High School;

Mallards

Mallards is a three-floor Victorian Building situated at the Broadmead Road end of the site. It contains the school's main office, and the departments of science, english, drama and theatre studies, business and art. There is also a small canteen known as "Mallard's Canteen" and a large Sixth Form suite upstairs, complete with a common room for students to socialise and spend their spare time.

Wynndale

Wynndale is the more modern building on the site, and is situated at the bottom of Wynndale Road, although it is accessed by the St Barnabas Road gate. This building holds the school's larger canteen, the girls gym and a large hall with stage (where exams are held). All the humanaties are here, along with maths and technology. The technology block is also attached to the Wyndale building; it contains the music department and food technology classrooms.
