Cooraclare (Irish: Cuar an Chláir, meaning 'Recess of the Plain'), a village near Kilrush, in County Clare, Ireland, was formally part of the parish of Kilmacduane. The village is home to Fianna Fáil Senator Brendan Daly and footballer Tom Morrissey who played for Clare in the 1992 Munster Final (beating Kerry). Daly is famous for once suggesting that the village should become Ireland's first corporate sponsored village, advocating that the main street should be renamed 'Quality Street'. He took the first steps himself by naming his own house 'Maxwell House'. Evidence of his plan still exists in the village where the locals have affectionately retained the name 'Barry's T Junction' at a crossroads outside the village. There is a primary school, Montessori school, and three pubs of which Tubridy's is also a guesthouse, two shops and a flower shop. There is also a brothel, named A box of Roses, which opens each Friday and Saturday evening.

Cooraclare won the County Football Championships in 1986 and 1997, and also hosts the Rose Of Clare Festival every year in August.
