Knockbreda F.C. are a Northern Irish football club playing in the NAFL Division 1A of the Northern Amateur Football league.

The Seconds were relegated this season as a lack of support was provided from the firsts and in general they were just not good enough. Some players in particular are more guilty that others (Abbey Villa) However, the season ended at just the right time as Knockbreda have had the chance to re-group and sign players. They already have secured the signatures of Kyle Burton, Son of Ex Amateur League Player of the year and Malone legend, Edward Burton. Players like Alan Armstrong have also re-signed which is a boost as his white socks, tape and his ability to get bashed every couple of matches was sorely missed. Club legend Marc McNally has returned from an injury plagued season which is another boost for manager Willy Manley. Keith Reynolds (Brad Friedel) inclusion in the squad is another boost as he has played in a variety of postions for clubs all over the globe.

One major doubt for the new season is Alan Armstrong, he was involved in an altercation at the Bambu Beach Club, Belfast. He got arrested and spent a night in the 'Slammer' pending further enquires. Many people including manager William Manley would have see this as a major blow as they begin there preparations for the new season, however first team star (and club Captain) Baz was quoted in saying he was "Glad to see the back off 'Abbey Villa'" (Armstrong's Nickname). Also speaking on Armstrongs arrest, Aaron 'Macca' McIlwaine said "Kurt will keeell you" and that "Kurt would pound Alan like yesterdays beef in the Slammer". Strong words...

Knockbreda's pre-season is well underway with both the 1st team and the 2nd team wanting to get into 'peek' physical condition for the new season. In fact Knockbreda have their first match this Sunday against a Lisburn Distillery select side. Many people feel that a match this soon into a campaign could jeopardise some players for the whole season but a source at the club rubbished those claims, " Sunday is all about seeing the players in a match situation, they can run around like headless chickens at training but the cream will rise to the top in a match situation and Sunday should give us an indication who are the cream de la cream.

One doubt for the match this Sunday is 'Abbey Villa' (Alan Armstrong), rumours circulating the training ground / press and the internet are that Armstrong has been seen in many paramilitary ran bars in East Belfast, having excessive amounts off alcohol with some off the figureheads off the Loyalist Community during the week. Also reports are that is going to enjoy an evening off progressive trance music in Banbridge, Northern Ireland on Saturday evening with many off his close friends. With this in mind Armstrong has to be considered a doubt for Sunday as he will be suffering the side effects of alcohol and drug fuelled night on the tiles, but only time will tell.

Daniel Young has been given the all clear from his test results and could not wait to tell Willie Manley so he may be clear to play this season, Willie was quoted saying 'It's great to see Dan get the all clear, the boys will now let him use the showers again, now they no he isn't a danger any more!' Dan was overjoyed with this and could not contain his enthusiasim of being able to shower with the boys again 'I can't believe it I could have never dreamed this day would come again, I am so relieved what happened between me and Macca(Aaron McIlwaine) is a thing of the past and there is no harm done as are reults came back negative, we will just have to be careful in the future with what protection we use but sometimes in the heat of the moment you just have to go with it!'
