Contingency Planning

It is important enough to be in Wikipedia. Good examples constrast good and bad planning. Contrast the Shackleton Antarctic Expedition's recovery from disaster, with the Donner Party's wagon train expedition and its catastrophic succession of disasters. Shackleton had contingency plans that quickly diverged from the causes of each mishap; the Donner party stubbornly tried to pursue a linear course without any contingency or escape plans. I don't know enough about it though, the two are a veritable yin and yang of planning. what is contigency planning

Future Scenarios

The existence of control technology - mobile phones, navigators, portable computers etc. - and technology that can be used to deception, makes people afraid and makes them wonder what will happen if some people in power of the technology try to govern things by their help.

It can be shown that good moral is still the best way to arrange things, even if one would be interested only in the economical benefit of some small group: (the optimised arrangement produced by the evolution:)

  • human values -> health -> best working ability,
  • justice -> each thing treated according to what it produces -> health of practises in this respect,
  • carrying responsibility of the things that one affects -> guidability,
  • sincerety in communication -> a correct picture of how things are -> guidability,
  • holistic objectivity -> things treated according to their role in the world.

In other words: excellent moral is the optimised choise.

In my opinion these things about the beneficiality of moral should be taught to people. It would not take many moments to go through them in connection with some scenario of the future, and it would make the future look much brighter in the eyes of the readers! 84.239.162.126 (talk) 11:21, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
