Tinea faciei

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by 71.127.23.22 (talk) at 21:09, 25 July 2008 (This page has questionable information, the disease itself is questionable). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Tinea faciei is a fungal infection of the face. It generally appears as a red rash on the face, followed by patches of small, raised bumps. The skin may peel while it is being treated.

Medication prescribed for this condition typically contains cephalexin pills.

Tinea faciei is contagious just by touch and can spread easily to all regions of skin.

Questionable Information

I looked up in the Merck Manual and at the CDC and no disease by that name is listed. In addition the drug cephalexin only kills bacteria with cell walls, not fungi. Therefore the above information is questionable. 71.127.23.22 (talk)
