Modlife is an online community that allows bands and musicians to communicate directly with fans. Derived from social networking services, the site offers bands and businesses the tools to sell digital content directly to their fans and customers. It was founded and adapted by entrepreneur and musician Tom DeLonge.

The full site launched in June to coincide with Warped Tour. A new Modlife page called "Modlife On Tour" was also launched with it. DeLonge stated that the focus of the site was to "be connected to the fans, basically through the best technologies that exist right now."[1]

In June 2008, Timmy Curran became the second artist to join Modlife and now has a full page within the website.

Features

For musicians and bands, the site boasts a feature known as "ModBlast" which gives premium users the opportunity to chat with their favorite bands via Instant Messaging and a live video stream - "ModCam". Fans also get access to the bands' video blog, called "ModCasts". Users of the website can stream music directly from the site. Bands can also give premium users the chance to meet them at shows.
