Prescription Status

It's worth noting that as of July 1st, 2006, Sudafed, Claritin-D and other drugs containing pseudoephedrine will revert to prescription-only status in the state of Oregon. Mojo Tooth 19:59, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Efficacy of Phenylphrine

I added a quote mentioning the fact the Phenylphrine is not considered effective, but will be used because it will be the last approved decongestant.

I believe that Pfizer knew of a cost effective method of producing a methanphetamine proof Sudafed that would immediately gain approval from the FDA. The question is, how much of Sudafeds sales were to people making methamphetamine? Would they have lost a huge portion of sales had they produced a formula that would not readily yield the desired purified crystals.

Sudafed in Australia - article inaccuracy?

From the article: "In Australia Sudafed with 60mg of pseudoephedrine is available with a doctor's prescription only."

I just (June 07) purchased "Sudafed 12 hour relief pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 120mg" over the counter from my local chemist without a prescription though I was asked for photo ID.

Sudafed in the UK - article inaccuracy?

In the UK, Sudafed with pseudoephedrine is available from pharmacists, up to a maximum of 24 x 60mg per transaction. This is to be reduced to 12 x 60mg in April. Sudafed with the useless ersatz stuff is available OTC and uses the same brand name and similar packaging to the proper stuff, unlike in the US where the difference is obvious.--FarmerPalmer (talk) 21:04, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pfizer?

Something about how this article is written sort of bothers me (maybe it's because for some reason it took like 2-3 reads to understand it), but one thing I think should be clarified. The article references "Pfizer" (I think that's how it's spelt) but doesn't actually mention what that is, someone who knows should clarify it. Pyrotics (talk) 13:51, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
