Gagan Narang
Gagan Narang (b. May 6, 1983, Chennai) is an Indian shooter. He won four Gold medals (Men's 10m Air Rifle, Men's 50m Rifle 3 Positions, 10m Air Rifle (Pairs) and Men's 50m Rifle 3 Positions (Pairs), the last two in partnership with Abhinav Bindra at 2006 Commonwealth Games. He contested in three events at the 2008 Summer Olympics, but failed to reach the finals in any.
Career
Gagan Narang won a gold medal in the Afro Asian games, 2003 in Hyderabad on October 26, 2003 in Men's 10m air rifle competition.[1] He had won an air rifle gold medal at the World Cup 2006 and followed that with a bronze at a similar event in April 2008. In a pre-Olympic event in Hannover, Germany, Gagan bettered the air rifle Men's world record. Narang's score of 704.3 bested the earlier record of 703.1, set by Thomas Farnik of Austria in the World Cup 2006.
