James Wilder (Farmer Boy)

Is the father of Almanzo Wilder and figures prominently in farmer boy the third book in the little house on the prarie sereis. He is described as a hardworker with the puritan work ethic 12 hours a day 6 days a week and his word is as good as his bond a well respected farmer in Malone New YOrk.

He married the former agnes day and in addition to almonzo three of his other children are mentioned in FArmer boy. He moved to Malone after his marriage. Is pretty prosperous. He moved to Minnesota when drought hurt his crops in Minnesota and later on to louisiana to try his hand at rice farmin. He died in 1899. There is no mention of him in any little house books besides farmer boy though Almanzo mentioned his mom wanting to come to the wedding. When Almanzo was sick he was nursed back to health at his parents farm in Minnesota where Rose got to meet her fathers parents.
