Hi, I am rather surprised by this Public charity page redirecting to Non-profit organization, because my understanding is that they are different things. A non profit organisation is basically an organisation which doesn't make a profit. Charities are a particular tpe of non profit organisation. There are a very large number of non profit organizations in many different countries. Public charities by contrast are a particular type of charitable organisation in the US. The term is defined by the IRS under 501(c). Is it possible for someone to take out this redirect and put in a stub? TamaraStaples (talk) 20:06, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
